No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars – Deliciously thick and creamy peanut butter bars that are LOADED with flavour, topped with a milk chocolate layer, and are completely no-bake!
No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
If chocolate and peanut butter is one of your favourite flavour combinations, then you are gonna love this recipe.
These Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars are thick and creamy, incredibly fudgy, and bursting with flavour.
They are finished off with a milk chocolate layer that is also loaded with peanut butter.
These bars taste exactly like a peanut butter cup, and they are absolutely irresistible!
Ingredients you’ll need
Here’s a list of ingredients you’ll need to make these bars. You can find my recipe card at the bottom of this post for the complete list with their amounts.
For the Peanut Butter Layer:
- Smooth peanut butter: For added crunch, you can use crunchy peanut butter.
- Icing/powdered sugar
- Unsalted butter: Melted.
- Vanilla extract
- Salt: Optional, but helps balance out the sweetness.
For the Chocolate Layer:
- Milk chocolate
- Smooth peanut butter: Again, if you fancy a crunchy chocolate layer, use crunchy peanut butter.
How to make No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
To make these bars, simply grab a large mixing bowl, and add the peanut butter, icing sugar, melted butter, vanilla, and salt.
Mix until completely combined. You should have a very thick dough.
Drop the peanut butter mixture into an 8×8-inch square pan lined with parchment paper, and spread out into an even layer.
You may need to use your hands to get it into the corners.
For the milk chocolate layer, add the chocolate and peanut butter to a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30 second intervals, stirring after each one, until melted and smooth.
Pour the chocolate mixture over the peanut butter layer, and spread out evenly.
Refrigerate for 2 – 4 hours (or freeze for 1 – 2 hours) until the bars are completely firm and the chocolate topping is set.
Once chilled, slice into squares and enjoy!

NOTE: For best results, I highly recommend using the gram measurements (with a digital scale), rather than the cup measurements.
Cup measurements are simply not accurate enough, and I cannot guarantee the best results if you use them.

How long will these peanut butter bars last? These bars can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
Can I freeze these bars? Yes! They also freeze well for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before serving.
