Spiced Chocolate Eggnog – Deliciously thick and creamy, perfectly spiced chocolate eggnog that tastes amazing hot or cold!
Who’s a fan of eggnog? Have you ever had chocolate eggnog?
Well, today I bring you just that. Thick and deliciously creamy eggnog with chocolate, warm spices, and topped with whipped cream. This eggnog is irresistible served hot or cold!
Ingredients for Spiced Chocolate Eggnog:
- large egg yolks
- granulated sugar
- dark chocolate
- vanilla extract
- ground cinnamon
- ground nutmeg
This recipe is super easy to throw together, and is ready to serve and enjoy in under 20 minutes. It also yields about 6 – 8 servings, so if you need to make less, simply halve the recipe, or keep any leftover servings in the fridge for up to 3 days. Warm up or enjoy cold!

- 8 large egg yolks
- 1 cup granulated sugar 200g
- 4 cups milk 960ml
- 9 oz dark chocolate 265g, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Whisk together the egg yolks, and sugar until pale and thick. Set aside.
In a large saucepan, add the milk, chocolate, vanilla, and spices. Bring to the boil over medium heat, stirring often until the chocolate has melted, and everything has combined.
Remove from the heat, then gradually add the egg yolk mixture, whisking constantly, until smooth and combined.
Serve immediately, or refrigerate for up to 3 days before serving. Reheat, or serve cold.
This recipe can easily be halved if you need less servings.
