Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie

Are you a fan of strawberries? How about strawberry oatmeal? If yes, then I have the perfect recipe for you. Today, I’m sharing my incredibly delicious Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie!

This strawberry smoothie is thick, creamy, and loaded with flavour. I’ve thrown in some oats for added texture and thickness, making this smoothie a wonderful quick breakfast or snack.

Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie

This smoothie is made with only five simple ingredients, and is super quick and easy to throw together. It’s so easy and delicious, you’ll be wanting to make it every morning!

How to make a Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie

Ingredients you’ll need:

  • Rolled oats: You’ll be grinding these up slightly before making the rest of the smoothie.
  • Almond milk: Or you can use whichever milk you prefer.
  • Large banana
  • Strawberries: You’ll need 14 decent-sized strawberries – frozen.
  • Honey: For added sweetness. You can leave it out if you find the smoothie already sweet enough.

To make this smoothie, simply add the oats to a blender or food processor, and pulse a few times to grind them up slightly.

Add the milk, banana, strawberries, and honey, and blend until smooth and combined.

Pour into glasses and serve immediately.

Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie

Why put oats in a smoothie? Oats are a great way to add fibre to smoothies without adding a lot of calories. Plus, they add texture and thickness!

What are the best oats for smoothies? I like to use rolled oats and grind them up slightly so they are not as chunky, but quick oats work well too. Use whichever oats you like, depending on the texture you want to achieve.

How do you make an oatmeal smoothie smoother? If you don’t like the texture the dried oats give the smoothie, you can soak the oats with the milk overnight. This will soften the oats, and make for a smoother smoothie.

Can I keep this smoothie refrigerated overnight? Yes you can! The oats will become more softer than when you prepared it, but the smoothie will be just as delicious.

Oh I am loving this Marsha! Oats are one of my favorite ingredients to add to smoothies (or just oat flour ;))–it really does add such a wonderfully creamy texture!
